What does your food distributor business do?
We are Vanuatu’s market leading food service distributor supplying hotels, resorts, restaurants and caterers with quality food and beverage. We source and import our product globally, but also work with local producers to assist with distribution and quality control.
What’s one of your favorite product ranges?
One range of products that works really well for us currently is the Juicy Lucy range of premium juices. Better Drinks Co in NZ, who are the manufactures of Charlie’s Juice and Phoenix Organics, manufactures them.
Why do you think your customers like this product range so much?
I started this business a little over two years ago from my laptop in my spare bedroom in Auckland. After my son was born, I was booted out of the spare room and found an office with friends at The Produce Company. From there, I grew the business and maximized the previous supply model, and decided to take the plunge and move up here to establish a full time presence with warehousing, cool rooms and stock on the ground. I now have five full time staff and within a very short time the business has established itself to be the supplier of choice in the marketplace.
How is Unleashed helping your business grow?
If I were to point out one particular part of Unleashed that assists my business I would need to say the purchase order costings feature. This makes adding all of my landed costs for my food distribution inventory, onto the cost of the goods themselves, very easy and simple.
Is there something you are particularly excited for your business right now?
I would say the growth we are experiencing is definitely exciting. Seeing a plan and a lot of hard work come together is really rewarding.
Is there something your business in particularly proud of?
Standing by our belief in quality and service is definitely something we are proud of. The market here as a whole has always been really price driven and unfortunately due to this quality has been sacrificed. Clients now working with us are seeing improved sales, better yield and more repeat business from using our quality products.
